Delaware County, PA Summer Activities

Delaware County is saturated with local history. The summer is the perfect time to take advantage of the numerous historical landmarks (for free)! Visit the Morton House in Prospect Park or swing by the 1696 Thomas Massey House in Broomall – fun AND educational! While you enjoy the museums during the weekdays, be sure to stop by the various local Farmers Markets. Local markets are held in Media, Swarthmore, Newtown Square and other towns within Delaware County. Not only do these markets have delicious food, but many also have entertainment and provide a great opportunity to catch up with neighbors!

What is There to do in Chester County in the Summer?

Chester County is known for its picturesque landscape– rolling green hills and age-old stone architecture. The Brandywine Valley area is Chester County’s pride and joy. Enjoy all that it has to offer by attending Friday Night Concert Series’ (every Friday this summer) at Chaddsford Winery. If you still haven’t gotten enough of the Brandywine Valley, head over to Longwood Gardens to experience their Summer Spectacular which showcases annual and perennial flowers. If you’re in the mood for great food and beer, then keep your calendars open for Victory Brewing’s 8th Annual BrewBQ at the end of July – not much more to ask for!

Does the Main Line Have Great Summertime Activities?

Along the Main Line you’ll find gorgeous homes, unique restaurants and a variety of amusing summer events. If you’re interested in folk music, don’t miss out on The Concerts Under the Starts series in King of Prussia (every last Sunday). Bring your lawn chair, picnic dinner and be ready for some seriously awesome tunes! If you can’t get to the Wimbledon this year, be sure to catch the Philadelphia Freedoms at the Villanova Pavilion. Some of the worlds’ top tennis athletes will make guest appearances on rival teams. See Venus Williams and Lindsay Davenport for a great price!

Whether your luxury house is located in Delaware County, Chester County or along the Main Line, the only issue you’ll have this summer is deciding which activities you’ll want to participate in! We can guarantee that no member of your family will claim that they’re bored this season. Be sure you take advantage of all that is available to you right in your backyard. Happy summer!
